Introduction

Thank you for your desicion to use "Bradan's ID3Tag Tools". After the setup was successfull you'll see the configuration dialog. If not you can run it through the start menu or directly through going to the directory where you've installed it.

Configuration

Whenever you run this program without parameters you'll see this configuration window:

You should run it as administrator, because it needs access to the registry. The left button named "Insert items into the standard contextmenu of Windows." will add entries to your standard context menu like here:

And the right button will delete those again. If you have some problems with removing them you can do it manually. But you should have some experience with the windows registry. If you don't know what to do, ask someone who does. The registry keys that should be deleted are:
You may need toreboot your computer in order to see the changes.

Editing ID3-Tags

If you have inserted the contextmenu items like described in the previous paragraph, you just need to right click on your files and left click on "Edit ID3-tag". But then as many Windows as files you selected will be opened.

Otherwise you need to run the "id3tagtool.exe" (from the commandline or as a shortcut) with the "-edit" parameter followed by the filenames which may be surrounded with doublequotes (") if they include whitespaces:

But the "-edit" parameter has to be the first one!

After one of the previous two steps you will see a window like this where you can edit and save the ID3 Tags:

Sorting by ID3-Tags

If you have inserted the contextmenu items like described in the paragraph about configuring, you just need to right click on your files and left click on "Sort by ID3-tag". Then you may see a warning of the Windows Explorer, but you can leave it as the tools try to reduce the instances of the programs that are starting to one instance as fast as it can. You can disable this warning dialog through activating the checkbox before continuing.

The value "MultipleInvokePrompt" as REG_SZ set to "yes" within the following registry key lets this dialog come again if you'd ever like to:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DontShowMeThisDialogAgain]

If you don't have the contextmenu items you need to run the "id3tagtool.exe" (from the commandline or shortcut) with the "-sort" parameter followed by the filenames which may be surrounded with doublequotes (") if they include whitespaces:

But the "-sort" parameter has to be the first one!

After one of the previous steps you will see a window like this where you can specify the exact sorting parameters:

Wait until all files are inside the right part of the window within the list. It may take a while.
Then you need to specify the path where the files will be saved. Its the best to explain this with an example:
You have 3 files like that: And the mask within the input field at the left top side of the window has this content:
Then the sorter will go through each file, replaces the macros with the file specific data and moves or copies the file there. So the files will be moved as following: So with "fileA.mp3" the following replacements will be done on the content of the input field:
